MACWORLD CONFERENCE & EXPO APPLESCRIPT SESSION ANNOUNCED
AppleScript for Digital Photographers
Phoenixville, Pennsylvania - July 6th, 2005 - An "AppleScript for Digital Photographers" session will be held at Macworld Conference & Expo in Boston on Wednesday, July 13th, 2005 from 1:15 PM - 2:15 PM. This session will feature Ben Waldie, President of Automated Workflows, LLC, and will be part of the User Conference track.
With the onset of the digital camera revolution, photographers today are getting more than they bargained for. Digital photography brings with it a daunting number of digital files, all needing to be downloaded, processed, converted, renamed, keyworded, and more. Without automation, these tasks would be more than any human being could handle. Fortunately, hardware and software is becoming more and more automated, providing aid for many of these tasks. But, what about those tasks that aren't automated? Or, what about those tasks that are unique to your workflow? On the Mac, there is hope. It's called AppleScript.
This session will provide an introduction to AppleScript, and begin exploring some of the ways that scripting can help to improve your digital workflow. We will look at applications like Photoshop, iPhoto, and Portfolio, and explore ways that these applications can be scripted to perform tasks that will help you to stay organized, efficient, and stress-free.
With the release of Mac OS X Tiger, Apple has introduced another new and exciting automation tool, Automator. In this session, we will also take a look at how Automator workflows can help to reduce repetitive tasks, and help to make your photography workflow more efficient.
